Vienna Sights, Sounds and Hotels

The Museum of Fine Arts is adjacent to Hofburg Palace, and home to more than a substantial portion of the marvellous art collections that were gathered by the Habsburgs as they expanded their empire’s territory. The museum displays works by many of the great European masters, but one of the highlights is the fine collection of ancient Egyptian and Greek art. Many of the works of Pieter Brueghel the Elder, a 16th-century Flemish master known for his insightful and dynamic landscapes, are on display. Two outstanding self-portraits as well as a poignant portrait of his mother and Titus, one of his sons, are part of the Rembrandt collection. Don't miss the works of van Dyck, Peter Paul Rubens, Titian, Veronese, Caravaggio, Raphael, Giorgione and Tintoretto. There are also works by Albrecht Dürer, a Renaissance German painter and engraver who is recognized for his innovative art and his meticulously detailed workmanship.

A visit to Vienna's Museum of Fine Art will convert even the most hardened disbeliever in the arts! Vienna is an incredibly arty and musical city where one can really enjoy these fine pleasures. The outstanding Vienna hotels will welcome you and attend to your every need.
